Antique Appraisal

I need to find someone to help me appraise the antiques at my grandfathers house -- but I have no idea how to find someone I can trust. I don't even know where to look or get references. Any ideas?

Hi Dena, have you checked out the Appraisers Association of America? Their website is http://www.appraisersassoc.org/ and it allows you to search by area and specialty. They also rank their members into categories, so you can get an idea of who you're working with. Where are you located? I'm originally from the SF Bay Area and know of Maria's Antiques on Main St. in Los Altos (they also have a few other locations in Los Altos and Los Gatos) but am not sure if they do appraisals. Good luck!

Me again...I talked to a friend who recommended Mandy Sabbadini. She's in the Sacramento area but travels. Her phone number is 916 944-1401. Hope this helps!
