I am working on a web app and am looking for some tips or open discussion to help strengthen the app. I am trying to write a brief about the app and put together a solid elevator pitch (2min).

yeah sure:
http://apps.facebook.com/heartpts
(it redirects to heartpts.com, gotta fix that, but then just got back to that link)
and what I've written so far:

and to get a better view:

I found the app to be a little odd. Like a scorecard for relationships. I think if couples can't communicate, that's an issue that can't be solved by a web app. If a couple have problems, your app would become some sort of passive therapyst, acting as a negative factor on the relationship. (a couple that has to know each other personal interest thru a web app)
I guess the app would have more sense if you applied to groups or friends, as in a corporate group you can use the app to evaluate your co-workers and HR can get a notion about the work environment, or in a schoolgroup you can tell the kids to evaluate their classmates.
@mau thanks for the input. The project started when I noticed that in my relationship, we would often pretend there was some point system and add/subtract points from each other. Heartpts was started with the intent to be a learning project so I could get a better grasp on rails and facebook platform.
Looking back, I believe more effort went into coding than developing the purpose and idea behind it.
I think the intention of the app is more of a real-life game and not to be the magic means of communication but as a casual way to quantify actions in a relationship in a fun sort of way.
Still, the idea is pretty weak and I am not sure where I want to go with it. I'll think about what's been said, thanks.
I'm not a huge fan of Facebook apps, so realistically I probably wouldn't use this. But I could see it being applied more between friends, where you can go to your friend's profile and add or subtract points for things like "copying the history notes for me" or "falling asleep at 10pm on a friday night", silly stuff like that. Good luck figuring it all out!
