Volunteers needed for Latin America and Africa programs

Be a volunteer for 9 months and travel by bus through Latin America. Learn Spanish language and work shoulder to shoulder with the Poor to improve their life condition.
The elements of the program is
- 2 months of preparation period in St. Vincent & Grenadines where you will have Spanish language course, studies about Latin America and the countries where you will go, and preparation for the travel
- 1 month travel first by plane to Brazil and from there with bus to Ecuador and making investigations, researches and can learn more about the situation of each country and the gap between Rich and Poor
- 4 months of work in a Child Aid and Community Development projects in Ecuador, Teaching, Health and Sanitation programs, Income generating activities and Farmer Clubs. Working with poor families of the rural area and being responsible for 25 families.
- 2 months of evaluation and conclusion period in St. Vincent & Grenadines where you are presenting the things you’ve seen and learned so far, prepare presentations and exhibitions
The program will start in July 2009 and November 2009.
OR
Africa program lasts for 14/20 months.
- 6 months training at DRH Richmond Vale Academy, St. Vincent and the Grenadines
- 6/12 months on a HUMANA project in Mozambique, South Africa, Malawi
- 2 months Camp Future - follow up and information work in the Caribbean
The projects in Africa are working on the following main issues of development:
• Child Aid and Community program
• Fighting HIV/AIDS
• Making program for orphans and street children
• Training future teachers
• Teaching in vocational schools
• Agriculture, farming and environmental protection
• Business, marketing and partnership
Groups start every 1st of March and 1st of September.
No special qualifications needed. The course has a fee.
Food and accommodation provided during the training period. During the project period, food, accommodation, pocket money and health insurance are provided.
