Yo should definitely take the cable railway in Pedro de Valdivia Norte ( Cerro San Cristobal). You also visit Pablo Neruda's house in Bellavista. I think you have to call them fist but I'm not that sure.
There's also the MIM (muse interactivo mirador). My cousins kids came to visit us some weeks ago, they are from Venezuela and they loved it.

There's an ice/skating rink at Parque Arauco Shopping (in las condes).

    enjoy!

You also have Parque Bicentenario, it's on Vitacura. Its a lovely place to go, there are also some fun and well designed games for kids. I went there last week. It's a really safe place to go.

Now, if you decide to go to san cristobal, bellavista or downtown santiago be aware of keeping your camera on your purse and your bag under your arm (in the case it's a bag, keep it in the front).

Make your kid try alfajores and manjar /dulce de leche. Chilean fruit is really tasty too. Now it's watermelon season....mmmm!
