House change - Sweden for California/USA

I would lika to borrow a house by the seaside in California (near LA)a couple of days - about one week - in july. In return you (and your family) can live in our nice villa by a lake in Småland, Sweden, during 2 weeks/july. Th villa has its own beach/bathplace with canoes and boats etc. Lovely golfcourse nearby.

A very small help with the English -- I think you mean you would like to "borrow" a house by the seaside in California in exchange for a villa by the lake in Sweden. As currently written, it appears like you are offering to provide BOTH the LA house AND the Swedish Villa, which sounds really great to me. I only point this out to avoid confusion.

Personally, I wish I had either! The villa sounds lovely.

Hi Elisabet! I am from California and actually studied in LA. Unfortunately I am not very familiar with any house swap websites, but I found a couple that don't have membership fees (most do):

http://www.1sthomeexchange.com/index.php - offers a basic membership that's free, but with this membership you have to wait and hope that someone contacts you, you can't contact other users

http://www.exchangezones.com/homeexchange.html - you have to register but it's all free

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/swp/ - again, completely free
