Place for comedy-SF Bay Area
I need a place to hold comedy nights in the South Bay (SF Bay Area, Cali). I'm looking for a bar, coffee shop or any kind of cool space where I can host an on-going series of stand-up comedy nights. I can arrange great local comics, but I need you to provide the space!

Depends on what kind of vibe you want...you could try the Old Pro in Palo Alto (Ramona St, www.oldpropa.com), your typical sports bar with lots of TVs and a mechanical bull, but it could work if the humor is more "frat"-y. If you are looking for a cafe, Borrone's in Menlo Park (El Camino Real, www.cafeborrone.com) has music nights, so it may be worth seeing if they're interested in doing a comedy night as well. Also, the Rose and Crown pub in Palo Alto (Emerson St) apparently has a comedy night on Mondays, maybe they're looking for new talent?

Thanks Emily...do you have any favorites? The "frat-y" scene doesn't really interest, maybe something a little higher-end, but not too snotty. Cafe Barrone is a great idea, I was also thinking of right next to them at the BBC.

Love Borrone's and it gets lots of people from high school to senior citizens. If you can work it out it would be a great spot. You might also have some luck with Max's Opera Cafe at Stanford...clearly from the name they usually have musical performances, but who knows if they'd want comedy as well?! Does tend to be an older crowd though, might not be your typical comedy night. Sorry I don't have any connections to offer, just ideas! Good luck!
