Do you really want to make your Need anonymous? Once you do this, your Need will be assigned to an anonymous user, and you won't be able to edit it. You cannot undo this.
I need to find someone to help me appraise the antiques at my grandfathers house -- but I have no idea how to find someone I can trust. I don't even know where to look or get references. Any ideas?

They also rank their members into categories, so you can get an idea of who you're working with. Where are you located? I'm originally from the SF Bay Area and know of Maria's Antiques on Main St. in Los Altos (they also have a few other locations in Los Altos and Los Gatos) but am not sure if they do appraisals.
